Multi instance setup

Hi everyone,

We are currently in in the process of shifting from Navision 3.70 to NAV 2013 R2, but I'm worried about the server setup and hope that some of you could share some of your expertise. Note I'm not a NAV consultant nor developer.

We would have 3 databases. 1 US, 1 Brazil, 1 DK. I know for a fact that the Brazil database contains a lot of customization in order to comply with local laws. Different databases with their own localization. I have 1 consultant saying that Multi-instance is the way to go, as we would only have to maintain 2 servers (incl. a middle tier server) and wouldn't cause any issues. Other consultant says that we would run into trouble with some reports etc. and have to go forward with a dedicated server for each of our setup.
Naturally our own IT dept. aims to limit the amount of server they need to maintain.

Any thoughts?
