Dear all,

As per as I know that the mdf in Navision(NAV 2013 R2) contains the all objects & the ndf contains all the data of the database.

In a Client I have seen that they(client) have no ndf in the SQL Server for the Navision database that's mean the mdf contains all objects and as well as all the data of the database. ---Am I right ?

If I create a ndf manually ( from Navision Site) into the same environment what will happen ?
When will it start to receive the data from the Navision application ?

Kindly inform.
Now or Never

If that is all you do, yes but so will the original file. Also depends on what FileGroup you put that new file in. The datafile that "receives" the data is that datafile (or files) that make up the FileGroup in which the table lives. SQL will spread the data across the files in that group. There is, of course, much more to this explanation.

The one thing I've noticed is the W1 database seems to have only the MDF file. Where localized versions (NA in my case) seem to have the 2 datafiles.

Also, the NAV Objects are not in that first file.
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.
