In ML captions please use "fallback", "primary" languages

NAV works this way: if the current language is say DEA (German Austria) and there is no caption in this language, it falls back to DEU (German Germany) and if it still does not find one it falls back to ENU. But if the current language is DEU it does not fall back to DEA, it falls back to ENU. So there is a hierarchy of fallback languages which I am not sure is documented but you can use common sense: "primary" French is that of France, not Canada or Belgium, and so on.

What happens when on a report you use DEA and ENU captions? Your Austrian company opens a subsidiary in Germany, you copy objects into the DEU database, and suddenly they are displayed in English on the invoice because the DEU cannot fall back to DEA, only to ENU. However DEA can fall back to DEU so this is why it is better to use DEU captions in Austria too or Switzerland and the same with every language that is spoken in more than one country.

So please use the "primary" languages unless you really need to express something differently. Example: ENU=Quote;DEU=Angebot;DES=Offerte is OK because that is really different. But if it is the same word, use the "primary" language layer.

Try to leave your emotions out of it. Yes, you are proud that your Austrian German or Belgian French language is different from the one spoken in the bigger country, okay. But as long as words are the same in the business language, use the "major" language layer because it saves time when you (or your customer) opens a subsidiary in the other countries.
