I've read through the forum and see references to requiring at least Nav 4.0 & SP3 to make this work. I'm getting an error message to the effect that Nav can't load the xp_nd0_x64.dll when I try to select the company. Are there techniques other than upgrading?

I wnet through the process of installing the dll in SQL with no errors.

The system has been so customized it makes upgrading almost impossible so I'm looking for other alternatives....

thx

Dan.

I think SQL 2008 R2 is compatible with NAV version 5.0 and above...

If you are under maintenance, you can do a platform (execuatble) upgrade. This will allow you to work with current SQL Server and Windows.
If you upgrade to 2009R2, you will need to replace the matrix forms. (e.g.408 G/L Balance by Dimension). Earlier editions will not require this.
Other than the above, all your NAV objects can stay the same, and you can selectively add new functionality.

Eventually you will need to upgrade or replace, so I suggest you start checking out upgrade specialists.
I have done some tough upgrades myself that other people have failed on.

You can always start a general chat and ask for recommendations.
My recommendation is you don't offshore it - I personally have never seen a good result from it.

Yes we are under maintenance so I'll look into that.

    Thx.
