This .exe file is a language module that can be used to run multilanguage functionality.
Important |
---|
You can only use this language module if your personal license file contains the language granule for this language. |
Each language module only covers the functionality for one specific language. For example, the Danish language module contains all Danish text strings for worldwide functionality and Danish functionality. It does not contain Danish text strings for other local functionality, such as French functionality.
After you have downloaded the relevant language module from PartnerSource, create a folder for the language and unzip the language module in that folder. For example, unzip the Danish language module to C:\LM DAN. Each language module tool contains the following files:
-
User Guide - Language Module Tool.htm
-
BNServer.exe
-
Charts.exe
-
ClassicClient.exe
-
EULA.rtf
-
NEP.exe
-
Outlook.exe
-
RoleTailoredClient.exe
-
Service.exe
The following procedures are described:
Adding a Language Module to the Classic Client
Prerequisites
You must have satisfied the following prerequisites to add a language module:
-
Increase the size of your Microsoft Dynamics® NAV database.
If you are using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV database and not a Microsoft® SQL Server® database, then you must ensure that your database has enough space to store the new language layer. Remember to expand the database as needed before importing a new language layer.
-
Have a full installation of the Classic client, including all automation components. You must have a full installation to be able to compile all objects after adding the language module.
Installation
To add the language module to the Classic client
-
Double-click the ClassicClient.exe file.
-
Browse to the root directory of the disk drive where you have installed the Classic client.

Setting Up Multiple Document Languages
When a language module is installed, you can enable multiple document languages functionality to print documents. When you print a document such as an invoice, it is printed in the preferred language of the recipient.
For example, you can specify a language code on the Foreign Trade tab of a customer card. When you print documents for this customer, they will be printed in the language that you specified for this customer. The client language does not affect the printing language of the documents.
For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Developer Help.
Notes
Charts
The charts that are included with the RoleTailored client and that can be inserted on Role Centers are not translated when you add a language module. Translations for standard charts are included in the Charts.exe file. To display a translated chart on the Role Center, import the relevant chart (.xml file) from the Charts.exe into the database and then personalize the Role Center to use the translated chart.
Personalization
If you have personalized a component such as a FactBox and then selected a different language, then the personalized elements are displayed in the original language. To view the elements in the new language, restore the default settings and reapply the personalization settings.
Uninstallation
If you uninstall Microsoft Dynamics NAV, then the language folders and files are not automatically deleted. You can delete these files manually.
Operating System Language
In the RoleTailored client, Help is always displayed in the same language as the operating system even though you can select another language in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. To display Help in another language, you must change the region and language settings of the operating system.
