Exigy Actively Supports Local Educational Institutions
In realising more sustainable use of ICT amongst educational institutions and across students, Exigy has sponsored various initiatives intended at promoting high achieving students, exposing students' talents to potential employers, identifying new means for embedding ICT within the learning curriculum and creating overall greater and better learning opportunities.
As part of the company’s constant efforts in achieving sustainable use of ICT amongst learners, Exigy sustained a number of events organised by various educational institutions. The main aim of these initiatives represented a common theme – that of fostering bigger and better opportunities for tomorrow’s working community. Exigy has sponsored the Dean’s List Awards and the Students’ Project Exhibition organised by the University of Malta, Faculty of ICT. These events recognise the efforts of tertiary education ICT students, whilst giving them an added incentive to expand upon their achievements. During the ceremony for the Dean’s List Awards on the 20th of May, the Dean of the Faculty of ICT, Dr. Ernest Cachia, presented the highest achieving students with a reward for their outstanding results. During the Students' Projects Exhibition, to be held between the 2nd and 3rd of July, ICT students will be given the opportunity to exhibit their final year projects, whilst demonstrating their potential to future employers. Exigy has also supported EMBED 2009 – a three-day event organised by the Curriculum Management and eLearning Section within the Education Department, showcasing modern technologies and approaches and aimed at encouraging educational institutions to embed ICT across the curriculum. During the prize-giving ceremony, held on the 28th of May, Exigy presented four awards to distinguished educators who actively promote good practice in ICT within their respective classes. Additionally, Exigy sponsored the prizes that have been awarded to year 4, 5 and 6 students during the Prize Day at Siggiewi Primary School, held on the 12th of June. Such a celebration actively promotes educational achievements from an early age, instilling in the minds of youngsters the importance of knowledge for future career development purposes. Exigy has further supported the school's ICT department through the donation of necessary hardware peripherals needed for its kindergarten classes. Because the company gives due importance to qualified financial expertise, Exigy was also a main sponsor for the business breakfast that the Institute of Financial Services held on the 19th of June, to mark the launch of the Institute's range of new qualifications to the local financial services industry.
