With its vast knowledge and experience within the eGovernment sector, Exigy has been invited to contribute to the Commonwealth conference on the ICT Legal Framework, which will be organised in Malta between the 15th and 20th of June.

The Commonwealth Network of Information Technology for Development (COMNET-IT) is organising a one-week conference, aimed at presenting legislative and regulatory issues that must be addressed so as simplify ICT mainstreaming through socio-economic growth and enable the enactment of a comprehensive Cyberlaw framework. Taking place in Malta between the 15th and 20th of June, this event is targeted at policy-makers as well as senior and middle management within legal and operational units. At the introductory stages of the conference, the challenges to legislative and structural frameworks, as well as the pre-requisites for an effective legal framework for ICT, will be amongst the most prominent topics on the agenda. More extensive discussions will take place covering: electronic communications and internet governance; computer crime, information law and data protection; the exploitation of intellectual property; and how eCommerce and eGovernment leverage on ICT to accelerate growth. Exigy’s knowledge and experience within the eGovernment field will be shared with the delegates during the open discussion – happening on June 19th in the afternoon – on why ICT represents a key focus for today’s Governments. Mr. Francois Grech, Executive Director at Exigy, will act as a moderator for this discussion. Exigy has been instrumental in the successful implementation of a number of local and international eGovernment solutions, encompassing core eGovernment infrastructures as well as specific Identity Management projects. Mr. Grech has been actively involved in the definition of eGovernment strategies within public sector entities.
